Andrew TRLIN Obituary

Dear Annette... many years have passed since we were last in touch... perhaps it was 1969 when Matthew was a baby.. however, I heard just recently that Andy had passed away quite suddenly a couple of years ago, and I wish to send you my condolences and warm wishes. I remember so well when you first met Andy.. it was love at first sight.
I imagine you miss him dearly.
I hope you remember me, I have often thought of you over the years

Dear Annette,
Cheryl and I are very sorry to hear of Andy's passing. He was a good person, and an important researcher on things to do with sociology and population. I particularly remember his enthusiasm for the successes of his former students including my son. His history of the Dalmatians in the gum fields will remain as a permanent record, but I will remember his friendship and his excitement about people and issues.
Our thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time.

Dear Annette and family: Andrew took me under his wing as a new lecturer from the USA, new to New Zealand and new to teaching at the university level. He demonstrated dedication to academic rigor and accessibility to students and staff. His booming voice and great laugh filled the halls at Massey. I learned so much from him and was also in admiration of his loyalty to his wife and family. May he rest in peace and I hold all of you in my heart as you mourn his passing. Andy is rembered by us as a colleague who understood Roy's insights, a friend who took time to care and a wise man with vision. To Annette and family we offer arohanui. May memories be sustaining always.
