von BIEL, Andreas. Died in Christchurch Hospital, on April 28, 2015. Beloved and respected husband of Margaret, inspirational father and father-in-law of Andy and Amanda (Te Awamutu), Victoria and Benedict (New York City), Thomas and Lorraine (Hove, Sussex, UK). Fun loving grandfather of Kate and Warwick, Chris, Isabel, Flora, Harvey, and Lewis. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Andreas von Biel, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. It´s just after 9pm in Melbourne, Australia on Wednesday 02 November. I have just found a photograph of my school friend, Andy von Biel, and his family at Christchurch Airport on September 26, 1970. Andreas and his family were returning to the U. S. of A. after living and studying in Christchurch for a year or so. My memories, as a 12 year old, were of `Mr. von Biel´ being a seriously smart, as were his wife, Margaret, and his 3 children Andy, Victoria and Thomas. It was great to discover that Andreas and Margaret, and Andy decided to call New Zealand home eventually. I extend my belated condolences to Margaret, Andy, Vicki and Tommy for their loss.
