A wise man said that through your journey of time you will encounter many
challenges, make acquaintances accept the possibilties that life may inflict.
Sharing life experiences have their moments but having a great mate is the
ultimate, a life line to reach out to. The old saying goes that during your
existance on this earth, you can count true mates on a wood choppers hand
he is usalley missing a couple of fingers, I have just lost a good friend and yes a mate. Paddy to me was known as Tanky, he called me Duff, a very educated guy spent most of his working life in the medical profession, an interesting conversationist at the best of times. Just before his accident we visited throughbred studs in the Camdridge area. When asked by the stud manager in a loud voice what do you see in this colt, a potenial champion?
Paddy answered 'a wise man once said I was blind in one eye and can't see
out of the other... what time is lunch? The horse sold for the price of a house, had several starts and now looking for a buyer. Such a wise Man a true Kiwi.
As I reflect on Paddy's life the memories flow back, the grins and smiles will last as a good mate does forever.
My wife Debra and I offer our sincere condolences to Khuanprai and family.
