I first knew Allan back in the mid-1970s through attending and watching motorsport, at both the club and national level. But I got to know him well, and Colleen, in the late 1990s when we became involved in a large project together.
Allan proved himself to be thoughtful, encouraging, generous, humerous and hard-working, and it was these traits that ensured the project was a total success. We became friends for life.
Allan's passing has brought about a mixture of emotions - the profound sadness of losing a very good friend and mentor, offset by the sheer delight of having known him as a friend. Being with Allan was always a pleasure and a 'hoot!' He is already greatly missed.
Farewell, Allan...it's been a privilege to have known you and enjoy your generosity of spirit. We will never forget you.
To Colleen and all Allan's family, Jane and I pass on our deepest condolences for your loss. Following from recent surgery, we are unable to travel up to attend today's farewell, but we will be watching the service and paying our respects with thoughts and prayers for you all.

Dear Colleen and Family,
We were devastated to hear of Allan´s passing. All Mum and Dad could ever talk about were their trips to Run-a-Muck - obviously plenty of special times spent there over the years and all the laughs. You were both such dear special friends to them both.

We are sending you all our love and thoughts at this sad time and know Mum would be there for you if she was able.
