Alister Deans Obituary

DEANS, Alister Austen. OBE. Peacefully aged 95, at the Princess Margaret Hospital, Christchurch on 18th October, 2011. Dearly loved husband of Margaret (nee Cregoe), and widower and much loved husband of the late Liz Deans. Beloved father, father in law, Grampa and great Grampa to Alister and the late Miriam, Joshua and Debs, David and Daniel (Timaru), the late Nick, Vic and John, Jesse and Ruby and baby Ivy, Oli, Sebastian and Nicola and baby Otillie (Norfolk), Bill, Zoe and Bruno (Darfield), Paul and Kate, Julia, Sean and Hannah (Christchurch), Steve and Jenny, Esther, John and the late Samuel (Peel Forest), Peter and Shirley (UK); Mike, Lucas, Stella and Felicity (Peel Forest). Brother to the late David Deans (Darfield), and friend of Trish, Robyne, Ali, Stephen and Elizabeth. A service for Austen will be held at St Mary's Anglican Church, Talbot Street, Geraldine on Saturday 22nd October 2011, at 11.30am, followed by remembrance celebrations at Peel Forest Hall.
