Dear Pat,
I've just found Alistairs' Obituary of Sep 2020.
I'm deeply sorry to hear of Alistairs passing, and for your loss. I hold such fond memories of our meeting up in Caravan parks in rural Aus in the '70's whilst our guys were working on construction sites and then your settling in Asquith. Dear Alistair always a smile never in a rush.
Thinking of you, Russell and Brenna.
Much love elaine figg (Rob, deceased).xx

We are saddened and offer our condolences to Pat and the family.
Our memories are still clear of our friendship, work and business experiences in Australia from Mt Isa, Lithgow and Hornsby.
We remember clearly our welcoming stay at the farm and the cattle auction with Angus steaks.
We also recall from Erland Nerass his adventures in his yatch with a faulty compass and running aground to visit Alistair and Pat.

We were lying on the top of the bank overlooking the swamp paddock. I had the rifle. Down the barrel I could see the hawk, hated killer of vulnerable baby animals. I squeezed the trigger and the crack rang out across the paddocks. The hawk turned his head and preened his feathers. "Have another shot" says Alistair generously. He was also about 10 at the time. He taught me I was no hunter.

Over 50 plus years of work and friendship we shared together in NZ and Australia.
Deep are the memories, precious they stay no passing of time can taken them away.
Our thoughts are with Pat and family.
From Nola, Ross and family.
