Alistair SCHMIDT Obituary

SCHMIDT, Alistair Allan (Ali). Ali passed away peacefully on 14th March 2022, after a full and active life, aged 86 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Gweneth and loved father and father-in-law of Greg and Pauline, Andrew, Grant and Connie, Stuart and Lian. Treasured Grandpa of Daniel, Rebecca and Jordan, Will and Rita, and James. Thank you for the wonderful support over the years from so many. A service for Ali will be held at the Chartwell Cooperating Church, 124 Comries Road, Hamilton at 11.00 am Monday 21st March followed by private cremation. Vaccine pass required to attend; the service will be recorded, please email [email protected] for the link. After match discussions to be held at the Frankton Rugby Club, Riflerange Road from 2 pm. Communications to the Schmidt family C/- P.O. Box 439, Hamilton 3240.

I was saddened to read of the death of my old friend, Ali.

Ali and I were close friends in our Papakura days. When Ali married Gweneth more than 60 years ago, I was their groomsman.

My sincere condolences to the family.

Feeling thankful Mum and I visited Uncle Alistair with Dianne at his beautiful home. He shared memories of his childhood and showed us photos of the family lineage.
