Hi Heather,
Very sorry to hear of Alistair's passing.
I will always have fond memories of him-especially his long drawn out jokes - but the punch line was always great.
I will really miss him and my regular visits to his surgery as you know.
My thoughts are with you always,
Brian Wright

Farewell to such a character. You always asked about my studying, my job, my daughter etc. You teased my endlessly about me being accident prone, and for some reason after you took photos of Dad's race car that you sponsored, either he, or Mum, would crash. You kept Dad standing, after many cracks.
You were a dear friend to our family. You will certainly be missed. RIP dear friend.

Al,
I will always remember your trademark greeting 'hullo', the trademark father christmas beard, your wise advice over many years and the grandfatherly care for my children. A good steak bbqed by you with a beer in your hand, a great host and and yet always took the time to talk to you personally. An inspiration to reach the best of your potential in life and "make sure you do everything on your bucket list that you want to do". You fought the good fight a strong man to the end. Passing peacefully with Heather by your side with a "wow" look in your eyes. Sadly missed by all of the "van der shire clan 9+2" Halyn x

Dear Heather and family.
It is with the greatest sadness that Alastair's friends and colleagues at the New Zealand Chiropractors' Association learnt of his passing. He was a stalwart and active member of the profession and will be greatly missed. We wish to extend out deepest sympathy to you and your extended family. With kindest regards, the Council and members of the NZCA.
