VOGEL, Alison Margaret (nee Barthow). Passed away peacefully aged 66 on 6 September 2024 at Mercy Hospice, surrounded by family. Loved wife of Stuart, loving mother and mother-in-law of Christopher and Claire, Timothy, and Francesca. Treasured daughter of Lucy and the late Roald, cherished by her sisters Glenys and Christine and their families. A service to celebrate Alison's life will be held at St Barnabas Church, 283 Mt Eden Road, Mt Eden, Auckland on Friday 13 September at 1.30pm. Alison and I sang together for many years in a choir called Volcanic City Voices. A lovely way to spend time together, especially at our Christmas concerts and busking to raise money for the City Mission.
I was fortunate enough to meet up with Alison for a cuppa just over a month ago and we talked about singing and family and the essence of living a worthy life.
