Alison VARCOE Obituary

VARCOE, Alison Rae. Rae passed away on Monday 23rd June 2025 at Nelson Hospital after a short illness. Dearly loved and treasured partner of Marie Duncan. Loved daughter of Earl and Alison Varcoe (both deceased). Loved sister of Garth (deceased) and Kath (Christchurch) and their family. Loved sister of Ian and Robin (Auckland). As Rae wished, a private cremation has been held. Messages can be sent to 35 Davies Drive, Nelson.

Rae was a revered colleague of the staff at the department of Haematology, Auckland Hospital.
Her wit and lively manner were truly memorable. She was always passionate about achieving the best possible outcome for her patients. She will continue to be remembered as a key figure in the history of New Zealand haematology.
