In early 1986, while at home visiting family, Sister Alice made connections with my Raglan Swann Forebears, and the Swan[n] ancestral farmlands in Ballyna [Ballina] near Ballyvalloo, and Blackwater, Co. Wexford, enabling researchers to finally locate the birthplace of my great grandfather James Swann. When recalling her discoveries, she also mentioned that her Sinnott surname caused my late uncle to comment that his mother's cousin had been an Archbishop Sinnott of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. [No family linkage has yet been discovered] Through that observation I was subsequently able to discover Fitzpatrick and McAuley forebears in NB, Canada. Sister Alice always expressed interest in our family, and pleased she was able to assist our research.

Dear Alice - we miss you greatly. You welcomed our rabbit and three daughters into your garden, fed them delicious carrots and cake, taught them all kinds of interesting things, and they loved their time with you. I'll treasure our fiesty, fascinating talks. May you now rest peacefully. From Jane, Dave, Emily, Georgia and Annabel.

God bless my Dear Auntie Alice. I loved it as a wee boy in Ireland when her Airmail letters would arrive and we would all sit to hear about life on the other side of the world. She was a beautiful soul and will be missed.
