Alexia PICKERING Obituary

PICKERING, Alexia Helen Jean Rae JP, QSO, CNZM. Our extraordinary mum, nana and sister, who passed away peacefully at home on 27th April 2017, in her 87th year. She campaigned passionately and tirelessly throughout her life in the disability sector; was an inspiration to all she met and a mentor to many. "Life's race well run, now commeth rest" Loved and admired mother of Paula, John, Janine and Alexia. Nana to Jessica, Daniel, Christie, Zoe, Emily, Maddie, Danielle and Oli. Great- grandmother to Kiara and CJ. Messages for the Pickering Family can be sent to 7D Herbert Gardens, 186 The Terrace Wellington. In lieu of flowers, donations to CCS Disability Action or Wellington Free Ambulance. A service for Alexia will be held at Wesley Methodist Church, Taranaki Street, Wellington, on Wednesday 3rd May 2017 at 1:00pm, followed by a committal in Christchurch to join Neville.
