What a tribute to Sandra!!! [and the family]. I have never seen so many loving comments posted here. God bless. I was a student of Douglas Snr years ago, and had continuing contact awhile with Constant & Douglas Jnr.

Our deepest sympathy to John, Constant and Douglas in the loss of a treasured friend and sister. In recent years Sandra shared the Mews family tree with me. Our roots go back to the magnificent island of Newfoundland, where Sandra's grandmother Floss was born and raised. Floss was our great aunt. We had wonderful visits with Floss and Kathryn in London and one visit with Douglas Sr. in Ontario. A privilege to remain connected with the Mews. Dear Constance and Douglas, my sincere sympathy at Sandra's passing. What great moments we all had singing your father's compositions. Sandra always made sure I was singing in tune with her perfect pitch. Aroha to you both and fond memories of Sandra and all your family.

What a special friendship we've shared since our school days here in England all those years ago!
Despite your move to the other side of the world we continued to keep in such close and regular contact - and not forgetting either the wonderful times we spent together on our visits to New Zealand, and our shared love of music and choral singing.
Phil and I will light a candle, and play Voces8 singing 'Lux aeterna' when your family, John and your friends are gathered to remember you at your special Service.

A memory of neighbour's wedding.

Rest in peace Sandra. We will miss you our dearest neighbour and friend.

May you rest in God's grace Sandra. Thank you for being such a wonderful neighbour. I've known you since I was 13 years old. Thank you for being there for my wedding, thank you for also meeting my little boy. May you rest now and be at peace.

Dearest Sandra, you were the happiest I've ever known you to be during the years you spent with your John. I will miss your friendship, your warm hugs and your insightful texts ..... may you now rest in peace. Thank you John for the strength of love and the joy of fun you brought to Sandra. I have to try extra hard Sandra, to remember important birth dates and anniversaries. I loved the way you could remember details and names of my relatives, their children and grand children. Constant and Douglas, my deepest condolences. I had noted Sandra's absence from the Auckland music scene. A lovely family - all of you. And remembered across 70 years!!! And I am so glad she had loving care of late. Rest in Peace, Sandra, and Rise in Glory.

MEWS, Alexandra Christine (Sandra). Born March 27, 1950. Passed away on February 26th in Paeroa. Loving sister of Constant and Douglas, sister-in-law of Maryna and aunt of Sylvia. Funeral at St Ignatius, St Helier's, Monday 6th March at 11am.
