An active member of The Grange Golf Club for over 50 years. He served on the committee several times but did not take an executive office. A keen competitive golfer who supported the Club in every way he could. R.I.P.

You're the last of them; now we have to be the tribal elders. Rest now at the end of a life well lived, well loved, and well respected.
You had so much mana, not just with us, but with everyone who met you. To us you were Uncle Barrie, always kind, generous, loving, and joyous. To your youngest sister, you were the brother she loved to lock horns with, mainly politically, but if she got one over you, it made her day.
I don't know how you were as a friend or work colleague, but clearly you were held in high regard - hence the CBE and other accolades.
Thank you Barrie for all your kindnesses and wisdom.

Barrie was the life and soul of our music mornings at Eastcliffe, a lovely singing voice, always kind and full of humour, contributing stories, and never forgetting to request 'Rose of Tralee', because he had a beloved wife whose name was Mary Rose. We miss him very much, and wish we had known him for much longer.
