Alan SWEETMAN Obituary

SWEETMAN, Alan James. Passed away peacefully at Grace Joel Retirement Village on 19 August 2018, aged 88 years. Loved husband of the late Gaye, loved father and father- in-law of Rowan and Margaret and Catherine and Simon, Poppy to Stuart and Nikki, Michael and Kat, Hannah and Oli, and Cameron and Gabby and great grandpoppy to Ella, Indie, Elijah, Grace and Archer. Older brother of Bev and Grace and step father and step grandfather to Gaye's family. Special heartfelt thanks to the staff at Grace Joel Retirement Village for their wonderful care of Alan and to Dr Mike McCrystal, Dr Louis Lao and the Oncology department for their compassion and professional care. A service to celebrate Alan's life will be held at the All Saints Chapel, Purewa Crematorium, 100 St Johns Road, Meadowbank on Thursday 30 August at 1.30pm.

SWEETMAN, Alan James (Pop). On August 19, 2018. Born June 22, 1930. Much loved Stepdad, of 46 years, to Chris Paul and Ingrid Boberg and father in law to Prue and Margaret. Loving Grandfather and Pop to Jason, Jessie, Peter, Sophie and Marcel Boberg - Great grand father to Hudson and Ollie and much loved life partner and loving sole mate of Nanny Gaye of 47 years - AJ and Pop - you will be missed by us all and many of our shared mutual friends. You hold a very special place in all of our hearts. We enjoyed and shared many of life's simple pleasures together your wonderful garden, many happy family gatherings, shared family dinners and some special holidays. We salute and honor you and your amazing life well lived.
