I worked with Alan in Bank of Scotland, London many years ago. Alan was a great boss, and a great person. Cherie and Alan were very supportive to Jane and I. We were shocked to learn of his death, while meeting old colleagues while on holiday in Scotland during May. Our condolences to Cherie and family.

Alan, Cherie, Claire and David lived in the flat across the lift lobby in Hong Kong when we were also posted from the UK to our offices there. The wonderful time we had there was in large measure down to Alan and his family. The Royal Garden (our block name) parties were many and fabulous.
RIP our special friend.

It's really sad to hear this news. I always looked forward to catching up with him & Cherie on my annual visits to Auckland. His Bank of Scotland friends back in Edinburgh send their condolences to Cherie and the family. RIP Tippler
