A very special friend since 1981, I married from her Uncle's house in Citrus Ave in Waihi Beach . My parents rented the uncle's house for 5 months in 1981. We stayed friends ever since. Marie has seen our boys grow up and she was very good at remembering our boys and our birthdays every year. She never missed a year. Only towards the end she did miss it and I knew something was up. I visited Marie in Bethlehem 2 years ago. She did remember me. When I talked about Jesus coming back soon, she lit up like a candle. Lovely last memory of her. I didn't know she had passed away , I decided to type her name and this came up. Rest in the arms of Jesus now.

I knew Maree as a devoted, loving mum who was a constant present in our lives, eversince I can recalll...a cherished friend of my mum and Aunt's.
More recently I valued our visits to Taurangas multicultural evenings and Maree's commitment to remain in touch with me, as a member of Jones clan

Marie, was a beautiful, faithful friend to my mother and myself for 30 years. Marie had loyalty, integrity and lived by her own moral code. She was a selfless person who always put other people's needs first before her own. The pic below was taken at my birthday party some 25 years ago. Her beautiful smile sums up Marie, beautiful inside and out. She was always a joy to be with. Her 2 boys were very privileged to have had Marie as their Mum. We loved our beautiful Marie and we will miss her greatly, Susie & Jean McCafferty

I too lived in Golden Valley and we kept in touch loosely over the years. Marie loved to be involved in so many different things and took a strong interest in everybody always. Such a lovely friendly interesting person. She will now be with her Lord resting in Him.
