Air BOLT Obituary

BOLT, Air Marshal Sir Richard Bruce. KBE CB DFC AFC RNZAF (Rtd) Chief of Defence Staff. On 27 July 2014, aged 91 years. Loved and cherished husband of Janice (Jan), and the late June (Judy), much loved father and father-in-law of Peter and Yvonne, and Jenny and Doug Thwaites, much loved step- father of Warren, Grant, and Andrea, dearly loved and respected Grandpa of Derek, Michael, Timothy, John, David, and Greta, and dearly loved and respected step-Grandpa of Yasmin, Mali, Leroy, Curtis, Arlo, and Ethan, and much loved by all of his great- grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated and can be sent to PO Box 7125 Wellington 6242 or may be left at the service. Messages for the Bolt Family can be sent to PO Box 6399 Marion Square Wellington 6141. A Military funeral with Full Honours will be held at the Wellington Cathedral of St. Paul, cnr of Hill and Molesworth Streets, Thorndon, Wellington on Friday 1 August 2014 at 2:30pm. Private cremation thereafter. "Loved by many and a hero to most. This song has ended but the melody lingers on... A life of joy and happiness is a life well lived. Rest in Peace".

When you married my Mother, a new chapter began for the Tucker family. I will never forget the wisdom, love and acceptance you brought into it, Richard on paper you were black and I was white but you never gave judgment only sound advice when I was alone. Stepfather is just a title to me because you felt like my Dad number 2. I'm sorry the Pacific ocean keeps me away from being there today but I'm there in the Sky. I already miss you Sir Richard, but I still have your words of advice as a tool for life you and I know. See you again, Warren Tucker
