Ah Choon TAN

Ah TAN Obituary

TAN, Ah Choon. Born in Kluang Malaysia, lived in Christchurch then Auckland, died peacefully on Friday 13 September 2024 at Auckland City Hospital aged 82 years. Beloved husband of Rosemary. Cherished father and father- in-law of David (and Louise), Audrey and Michael Hayes, Michael and Ai Ping. Loved grandfather of Tom, Richie and Robbie. Special thanks to the caregivers at Edmund Hillary Retirement Village for their loving, gentle care of Choon over many years. Private cremation on Saturday 21 September, for livestream registration details please contact the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to KidsCan.

Met 'Choon' at Canterbury uni - just the badminton club. The 'friendliest' guy. Supersmart and fought the good fight against those in the TAFE establishment. Great family.
Turned me 'asian' .

So sad to read of this my sons and I were looking up Mr Tan as they remembered their lessons with him and how easy he made maths seem a very lovely man , so sorry to Rosemary and family for your tremendous loss of such a great man.
