We were so blessed.
Mum and Dad were friends with John and Nancy and so church, school and geography brought us all together and I will always be grateful.
Nancy was like a second mother to me. She inspired me with her intelligence and fierce loving heart. I can never thank her enough for her generosity. She changed my life. Thank you and rest in light xxx

Aunty Nancy is my mother Christina´s sister- Nancy named a daughter after her! In my childhood, Nancy visited us in Canada and brought `exotic´ Kiwi gifts. We loved seeing her be with our mom and listening to them reminisce and laugh about their childhoods in Scotland.
And in my adulthood, I ended up being proposed to at John & Nancy´s vineyard in 2015 when we were visiting my now husband´s family because he is a fellow New Zealander, too!
It´s a trip that we will never forget- such a gracious host and wonderful woman. I am forever grateful she and her family were there with me.
Rest In Peace dear sweet Nancy. X

We loved getting to know Auntie Nancy when she came to visit Chris and Jack in Canada when we were kids. Visiting Nancy and John in New Zealand and then in Hong Kong were highlights of my life. She was warm and inclusive of our family. Thanks for the good conversation and company over the years.

To Simon and Nancy's Family,
We are truly sorry to hear of Nancy's passing, she will be with John now.
Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard but always near. Still loved, still missed and forever dear.

Our deepest condolences to Simon, Helen, Christina, Sarah, Joseph and all of their families as they farewell their much adored mother, mother in law and grandmother - Nancy.
Nancy and the Gilbertson Clan were a constant in our formative years of the 70´s and early 80´s.
Growing up on Northland Road, Nancy´s kitchen and home was almost as familiar as our own.
Nancy was particularly influential on the `Cox Girls´.
Not only her fashion style, her practicality, her passion for dialogue, her faith, but also her ability to appear at important moments in our adult lives -engagements, motherhood, new born´s in Scotland and most recently at Dad´s farewell last year, and she would always embrace us as she always had.
We too feel your loss, this break in the link in your family chain.
Sending you all love, light, friendship and so many happy memories of Nancy and John - for auld lang syne.
