A back fence was all that separated Anna and my childhood in Netzler Rd. Of Musa( hopscotch), Lape ( Rounders) and Pinesulu (a marble game) and Tisu (a card game). The fastest sprinter with her head tilted up to the sky. Her mother Esther the best seamstress in Apia. We would collect Lama from the Candlenut trees that lined our eponymous dusty road. Girls off both sides of Netzler Rd in the 50's and 60's were: cousin's Veronica (Voni) N and Caroline (Keka) N. The Pavitt girls Marilyn and June et al. Anna's sisters Nua, Florence and Claudia. The Stanley girls Pearl and June. And my eight sisters. Emily, Rennie, Marguerite( Margie), Theresa, Lily the writer of this post, Mary, Frances and Sineva. Acknowledged by others as the prettiest girls in our little corner of Moto'otua! The afternoon breeze still swirls around the Kapok trees and the Hibiscus hedges bloom red everyday...still. E le galo oe Anna. Ua sanisani fa'amanuao. May the birds on meeting each other again in the morn cry out with delight. Manuia lou malaga. Lily Brebner-Bergin Netzler. +64 273 675 459

When we visited New Zealand, Aunty Ana lived an hour away, but she made the time to pick us up and take her for a night in her home. She was so gracious and hospitable. She made us feel like home in a foreign country (for us). Her cooking was amazing, and she lovely to talk stories with. I will never forget her and the brief time we spent together. You will be missed aunty Ana. We love you! Thomas, Marjorie, and Kylie Steffany xx

I'm sure heaven needed another Angel, that's why you've been called by our Heavenly Father. Your infectious smile, enormous heart, commitment and passion to both your students and teaching colleagues will be greatly missed.
Fa'afetai le alofa ma le agalelei i a'i matou uma. Thank you for blessing us with all the fruits of your garden and for your beautiful soul/spirit.
Now, it's time to rest in the arms of our Lord and Saviour. You have fought the fight and you have succeeded over and above anyone's expectations.
RIP our dear Anna.

Anna and I went to school together at St Mary’s College in Samoa, we were a group of very close friends. Anna was academic, fun, witty and a great athlete, she was the fastest runner and was unbeatable. Anna I wish this was another race you could have beaten and won but knowing you, you would have given it all you had. This is Gods will and he wants you to rest in his kingdom now. My deepest condolences to all your family, Rest in Love my friend❤

My first year at nursing school, Ana was one of my lecturer also she's the one looking after pasific student. I remember when she called me outside the class and asked me how many hour i slept at night because she noticed I always sleep onher class. She encouraged me and supported me in every different way. Ana you're such a very nice person, inside and out and im grateful to have you throughout my journey. Your love, supportive and caring will never gone unnoticed Ana, may you continue to Rest In his Loving arms. From your PASIFIC STUDENT.
