Christine ILLSLEY Obituary

CHRISTINE MARY ILLSLEY (née Shanahan) August 17, 1958 - October 5, 2023 Passed away peacefully at Markham-Stouffville Hospital. Christine was a devoted wife to Daryl; and a proud loving mother to Connor (Eva Peringer) and James (DJ Ramirez). Predeceased by her beloved parents, Paddy and Heather Shanahan. She is survived by her loving siblings, Mike (Cathi), Mary (Mike Hall), Kathy and Ann. She was a fun-loving aunt to Jessica, Maggie, Emmie, Kelsey, Kyle and Jenna. Christine was the best of us, a shining example of humour, grace and humility, and always had a beautiful smile on her face. She was a tireless volunteer in the community with various organizations and was constantly involved in her son's schools and activities. Chris was a graphic artist, but also an accomplished cook, which led her to start her own successful catering business. Her true passion was golf. She was a member of the Briar's Golf Club as a Junior and re-joined later in life, eventually becoming President of the Briar's Ladies league. Most golf games ended with a cold caesar in hand. Above all, Chris loved her family more than anything. A celebration of life will be held at Beacon Hall Golf Club, 400 Beacon Hall Drive, Aurora, on Friday, October 20th from 1 – 4 p.m. Tributes will begin at 2 p.m. Special thanks to the staff at Bloomington Cove for their exceptional, gentle care of Christine.
