To Jane , Angela and family,

Forgive my late tribute, I have been in Australia building my business and did not know of Murrays illness or passing.
Murray was such a gentleman, it was my pleasure to have had Murray as a client.

1968 was the year I first met Murray + Jane Dunn, when I became their Karitane nurse for Angela who had just started at school, Penelope who was 3 years old and didnt like to eat and Sweet little 18month old genevieve. following 18months of caring for the children, Murray invited me to become the karitane nurse shop assistant at his pharmacy at Pakuranga. This kind and gentle man saw something in me I didnt, and he got me a job at Epsom caring for beaten and dumped children. We have been in touch on and off all these years and I only found out today, in Australia 27/2/16 that Murray passed away last year. My deepest condolences and sincere gratitude to Murray and Jane, you shall always be in my thoughts. I care a great deal for your entire family regardless of time or distance. Judy Schroder-Clarke

I first met Murray and Jane 8 years ago in NZ. I had been friends with Angela and Genevieve for over 20 years. I live in NYC - and decided to attended the Aussie open - I am a big tennis payer/fan. When I learned that the the girls - and family would be in NZ - i decided to visit NZ- with my 24 year old Tennis coach, Arthur, before we headed to Melbourne. We all first played Canadian doubles (which I think you folks call South African Doubles). Murray beat us soundly - and then, with little rest he played Arthur - pure Singles - and again won soundly. Arthur continues to speak about it - what tennis magic!!! He will be missed as a great husband, father, grandfather and sportsmen. But never forgotten.

This week we lost one of the good ones...

"Mr Dunn" was a true gentleman and an inspiring, caring and generous leader. I always remember with great fondness my time working on his Elizabeth Arden counter in Manukau. His Christmas speeches were legendary - and he is still the only person I know who could thank 30 staff members individually, managing to say something different and insightful about each one's contribution...!

Genuinely loved by his team, and respected throughout the industry, the support and encouragement he gave his staff saw many a successful career launched from this store. And long after leaving, we were always welcomed back with the warmest of smiles and open arms, like a long lost family member.

My deepest sympathies go out to Jane and the family at this very sad time. Thinking of you all, Natalie Back

Very fond memories of Murray Dunn, who always gave the most interesting and inspiring talks when I was at school with Angela, (I still remember some things vividly!) and had such a fascinating pharmacy to visit on playdates. He was also a very generous, fun, welcoming Dad who was much loved by us classmates of Angela's. I will never forget being driven in his car circa our 2nd year of school, and him encouraging Angela that she could and should be a model when she grew up if that was what she wanted! Deepest condolences to Jane, Angela, Penelope and Genevieve. RIP Mr Dunn. Lisa Newman xxx
